Ursache prüfen

  1. Check the Brake Pedal Switch: Verify that the brake pedal switch is not detached or defective. A quick test is to press the brake pedal and ensure the tail lights illuminate properly.

  2. Check the Clutch Pedal Switch: Check if the switch is stuck open, detached, or damaged.

  3. Check Fuses: Inspect the fuse box for blown fuses related to the EDC and cruise control (specifically Fuse 24 on many Iveco Daily models).

  4. Wiring Continuity: Check the wiring from the fuse box to the clutch switch and from the clutch switch to the EDC for breaks, chafing, or disconnected pins.

Reparaturschritte

  1. Inspect Fuses

Locate the cabin fuse box and test the cruise control/EDC fuses (specifically Fuse 24 on Daily models). Replace if blown.

  2. Access the Pedal Switches

Look under the driver's side dashboard at the top of the brake and clutch pedals to locate the switches.

  3. Test and Replace the Brake Switch

If the brake lights do not work or stay on constantly, disconnect the wiring harness from the brake switch. Twist or unclip the switch from its mounting bracket. Install a new OEM brake switch, reconnect the harness, and verify brake light operation.

  4. Test and Replace the Clutch Switch

Unplug the clutch switch connector. Use a multimeter to test for continuity. It should have continuity (closed circuit) when the pedal is at rest, and no continuity (open circuit) when the pedal is pressed. If it fails, replace the switch.

  5. Repair Wiring

If the switches and fuses are good, trace the wiring harness back to the EDC. Repair any broken wires using proper automotive soldering and heat shrink.

  6. Clear Codes

Cycle the ignition and clear the EDC blink codes. Test drive the vehicle to confirm the cruise control engages and disengages properly when the pedals are pressed.
