Iveco 1.5 – Engine Control Unit (ECU) / IVECO EDC MS6.2 SW 5.X Control Unit: OFF Clutch pressure sensor

This code indicates a malfunction or loss of signal from the clutch pressure sensor. The sensor is responsible for monitoring the hydraulic pressure of the clutch system, which allows the control unit to calibrate the clutch diaphragm spring characteristics and manage gearshifts. An "OFF" designation typically means the sensor signal is missing, out of range, or the circuit is open.

   Inspect the wiring harness and connector at the clutch pressure sensor (located on the transmission clutch housing or actuator block) for corrosion, backed-out pins, or physical damage.

   Verify the sensor's 5V reference supply voltage and ground circuit from the control unit. Check the signal wire for continuity back to the EDC/TCU and ensure it is not shorted to ground or power.

   Use a diagnostic scan tool to view the live clutch pressure sensor voltage and pressure readings (in bar/kPa). Compare the sensor's output against the actual mechanical pressure to determine if the sensor is skewed or dead.

   Check the clutch fluid level and inspect the clutch actuator for physical leaks, as low hydraulic pressure will trigger sensor faults.

   Preparation

   Disconnect the vehicle's battery to prevent electrical shorts and ensure the vehicle is safely supported.

   If the system is pressurized, safely relieve the hydraulic pressure in the clutch actuator system before removing the sensor to prevent fluid spray.

   Removal

   Locate the clutch pressure sensor on the clutch housing or mechatronics unit. Disconnect the electrical harness connector. Unscrew and remove the clutch pressure sensor.

   Installation

   Thread the new clutch pressure sensor into the housing and tighten it to the manufacturer's specified torque. Reconnect the electrical harness.

   Bleeding

   Bleed the hydraulic clutch system to remove any air introduced during the sensor replacement.

   Calibration

   Reconnect the battery. Clear the EDC fault codes using a diagnostic tool. Perform a clutch calibration/relearn procedure so the ECU can learn the new sensor's characteristics and idle position.
